RSVP to MIC’s Podcast Club in July!
At this month’s podcast club we are dead excited to welcome Louise Katternhorn, BBC Sounds Podcast Commissioner.
This month we welcome special guest Louise Kattenhorn, BBC Sounds Podcast Commissioner.
She’ll be swinging by to tell us about what’s happening at BBC Sounds, podcast challenges and successes at the Beeb, how their podcast commissioning works, and what they reckon makes a great podcast (based on what their audiences are responding well to).
Sounds interesting right?
About Louise
Louise commissions podcasts that sit under the BBC’s ‘Pop’ Network brands, from Radio 1’s 6 Degrees with Jamie and Spencer and Scarlett Moffat Wants To Believe to Asian Network’s At Home with The Khans. Beyond ‘chatty entertainment’ titles, her main focus for this year is a slate of music podcasts like ‘Songs To Live By’. Her remit also includes BBC TV companion podcasts, like the very successful ‘Obsessed with…’ strand. LBP (Life Before Podcasts) included making linear radio documentaries, and producing and Exec producing various specialist music shows for Radio 1 and 1Xtra.
What is MIC’s Podcast Club?
MIC’s (virtual) Podcast Club is a space for podcasters to get advice from each other, chew the fat and be amongst your tribe for a couple of hours a month.
Even better, it’s FREE to attend and the virtual aspect means you can join us from ANYWHERE!
What goes down
We’ve covered loads of useful stuff like media coverage, mailing lists, trailers, remote recording, audiograms, microphones, growing your audience, “shortcasts” and rating and reviewing podcasts.
And at #MICsPodcastClub we’ve been joined by professional podcast producers, hobbyists and DIY creators, BBC journalists, PR specialists and radio professionals – it really is for anyone who’s crazy about podcasting.
