Our Vic spreads the MIC love during International Women’s…
Our founder and CEO Vic Elizabeth Turnbull had a busy International Women’s Day 2022 by speaking at not just one event but four! From celebrating women in business in Tameside to sharing her journey with a bunch of fellow female entrepreneurs in Manchester.
Vic started her week by sharing the story about how we came to be at Tameside Libraries ‘Women Mean Business’ event – where she was joined by Uma Gally from Creator Ltd and Victoria Holden from Northern Lily. Cllr Leanne Feeley, Tameside Council’s Executive member for Libraries opened the event and all four of them managed to squeeze in a sneeky photo for the local paper too! 👇
It was then off to Manchester for Vic where she spoke with aspiring female business owners at the Manchester Library for the ‘Women Talk Business’ event. Hosted by the Business and IP Centre, the evening do invited more ladies who do business, alongside Vic, to share their experiences of running their own thing.
A few days later (yes, thank-goodness these events were spread over a few days!) Vic spoke to a bunch of media students at Rochdale Sixth Form about the path she took from media production national diploma student to running her own podcast production company twenty years later!
Then finally back in Manchester, Vic with a top bunch of women from Enterprising You, which is a support programme for those who are self-employed. Vic joined their monthly ‘have a brew’ networking meeting for the female entrepreneurs that they support. Vic shared a little bit about the perk and challenges of running your own business! Also on the bill was the Jody from Between Green.
It was a mad, busy week for Vic this International Women’s Day and she hopes that she’s inspired other women and girls to follow their dreams and ambitions, she adds,
A lot of what I talk about in my career journey is to never stop believing. Making audio and nice things for people’s ears is all I’ve ever wanted to do since I was a little girl. My career might have taken a squiggly path to get here, but it all happened for a reason and all those experiences have helped shape MIC Media into what it is today.
I’m privileged to get a platform to speak about myself and my business during International Women’s Day 2022 – I hope more events, organisations, panels, etc continue to invite all women to speak throughout the year and not just for one week every March.
We hope Vic had a well-deserved glass of something nice after this mega week of International Women’s Day 2022 fun!
