Hear and learn from the award-winning Armchair Adventures podcast!
Our next GrabThe MIC: Live conversation is with Andy Smith, founder of the participatory arts company Made by Mortals CIC – the brains behind the hugely successful and award-winning Armchair Adventures podcast on Tuesday 18th October.
Armchair Adventures is a podcast for kids and this year they won Bronze in the Kids and Family category at the British Podcast Awards. They’ve been featured on BBC Radio 4, received kudos from HRH Prince William and received tens of thousands of global listeners. Plus, just this month it was revealed that Armchair Adventures would be the first kid’s podcast available on all Virgin Atlantic Flights! On October 6th 2022 they launched series 3 of the Armchair Adventures podcast.
The Armchair Adventures story started during the pandemic in 2020. Made by Mortals recognised that their community was suffering from isolation and loneliness because of the lockdown. So, they wanted to create something that could boost well-being, be fun, and be able to be enjoyed by all of the family. Most importantly they wanted to design an activity that could be loved by anyone, at any time. The Armchair Adventures podcast was their response.
Grab The MIC: Live with Armchair Adventures
But just how did a small theatre organisation from just outside Manchester create one of the most popular kid’s podcasts in the UK and where all the voices you hear in the Armchair Adventures podcast are from their over 60’s amateur acting group?
Andy will answer these questions and more on Grab The MIC: Live on Tuesday 18th October, from 12.15 – 1.00pm, streamed live on LinkedIn and twitter via MIC media’s page.
Grab The MIC: Live series are conversations with our founder Vic Elizabeth Turnbull and not-for-profits who are using podcasts to inspire and change their corner of the world.
