Why we’re proud to be a social enterprise
November 21st marks Social Enterprise Day, and it’s the perfect opportunity to tell you why we’re super proud to be a part of the social enterprise economy.
Social enterprises are a vital part of the UK economy, contributing billions of pounds annually. They create jobs, tackle social and environmental issues, and strengthen communities.
As you can see with MIC media, a podcast production and training company, there’s loads of different types of businesses that are social enterprises from pubs to banks to leisure centres.
A Shared Vision
Our founder, Vic, has dedicated almost two decades to the third sector. She’s passionate about using podcasts as a force for good, she adds,
“When I founded MIC in 2019, there was no question that it would be a profit-for-purpose model. There’s nothing quite like MIC in the podcasting industry, where it’s often centered around money, big names, but not purpose.
We’re proud to be contributing to the growing diversity of social enterprises, showing that they come in all shapes and sizes. As the world strives for more inclusivity and equality, doing business with social enterprises like MIC contributes to the greater good. More businesses are looking at their ethical footprint and legacy, and working with MIC is a powerful way to make a positive impact.”
Why We’re Proud to Be a Social Enterprise
We’re not just a podcast production and training agency; we’re a catalyst for positive change. Our social mission is to amplify underheard voices and stories through the power of podcasting. By doing so, we’re not just creating compelling content; we’re empowering individuals and organisations to tell their stories, share their knowledge, reach new audiences and inspire action.
There’s a lot of value in what MIC media does. I would definitely recommend charities and social impact organisations to consider a podcast, whether that’s as a tool to engage with current or potential beneficiaries, funders, potential partners. It also helps you reach new people in a unique way. MIC can help you achieve all of this.

Social Enterprise UK explains the importance of social enterprise businesses, “By selling goods and services in the open market, social enterprises create employment and reinvest their profits back into their business or the local community. This allows them to tackle social problems, improve people’s life chances, provide training and employment opportunities for those furthest from the market, support communities and help the environment.”
