The latest episode of our ‘Supporting Women in Social Enterprise‘ podcast is out now. It’s a podcast that we produce for the awesome Flourish Together CIC and this one is all about barriers to employment.
Episode 5 is all about the challenges and opportunities when it comes to women in work. It’s recorded live on Day 2 of Flourish’s latest development programme called Time To Grow. The Programme is designed to help groups of women who are facing barriers to employment and at the same time, provides a talent pipeline for employers to discover this untapped talent.
It features interviews with women who are out of work, but face vastly different barriers to employment. From graduates without networks and retirees with little confidence to business owners with childcare responsibilities. Plus we hear from Simone Callaghan who’s worked for many years as a careers adviser and now runs her own social enterprise, The Goodness Collective CIC. She’s one of the tutors on the Time to Grow programme and explains why the world of work needs to catch up with the ongoing challenges women face.
It’s a real eye opener of an episode.
