Artichoke
MIC produced audio to make art accessible with Artichoke for the Bloomberg Connects mobile app.
With help from MIC, leading live arts organisation Artichoke is now on Bloomberg Connects. It’s an accessible mobile app that brings together prestigious arts institutions and their work from across the US and the UK
To date, we’ve supported Artichoke to create a digital audio guide for their exhibition Women Making History. The exhibition displays more than 100 extraordinary banners created for their historic 2018 project PROCESSIONS. Plus, created audio pieces to tell the story of their landmark sound installation project Peace Camp.
Through the app, you’ll hear from artists and participants involved in the project through a series of audio interviews and transcriptions. These have been produced by MIC, especially for the app. The accessible guide was also heard by in-person visitors to the Women Making History exhibition too.
Our work with Artichoke is a fantastic example of how audio can be used as a vehicle to bring an organisations impact and work directly to people’s fingertips – all in an easy-to-digest and accessible way.
Our collaboration with Artichoke started during the pandemic, when attendance to arts and culture was decimated. So it was a joy to help provide a way for people to consume and enjoy creativity – especially through the power of audio.
Artichoke joins 28 international institutions including Guggenheim NYC and Whitechapel Gallery in London who are on the app. Download the free Bloomberg Connects app from the google play store or the Apple app store here
