Grab The MIC: Live returns with community reporting &…
Yellow Jigsaw CIC are training up their community reporters as roving podcasters! Discover how they’re doing community reporting with podcasts and the impact podcasting has had on their young and old participants at the next Grab The MIC: Live on Tuesday 21st February.
Grab The MIC: Live is back for season 2! It’s our series of live conversations with podcasters from across the not-for-profit world. We want to inspire you to Grab The MIC too and get podcasting!
On Tuesday 21st February Kirsty Day, the media director at Yellow Jigsaw joins us to chat about community reporting and podcasting.
The award-winning CIC equip its reporters with the skills to start a podcast so that they can creatively report on the issues that matter most to their community.
It’s an approach they took with Talking About My Generation, the UK’s first older people’s-led news team – who launched the ‘Changing The Record’ podcast in 2019. They’ve also recently started podcasting with their Media Cubs programme, which is a pop-up TV studio and newsroom for kids.
This is set to be a fascinating insight into how podcasting can work with different age groups and as a simple, creative way to gather unique and diverse voices and opinions – and at the same time boost skills!
