We’re shortlisted in the Manchester Culture Awards 2022!
Woohoo! We’re over the moon that our founder Vic Elizabeth Turnbull is shortlisted for this year’s Manchester Culture Awards, the city’s annual celebration of outstanding cultural contributions.
Our Vic is shortlisted in the Promotion of Talent and Leadership category. This award showcases excellence in supporting others to develop their skills and talents for future success. Vic certainly fits the bill for this category and over the last 18 months has worked with lots of different folk across Manchester to help them to develop their voice and skills through podcasting, including neurodiverse young adults with Digital Advantage, young community producers at the National Football Museum, female social entrepreneurs with Flourish Together CIC and start-up’s at the Business and IP Centre.
Vic adds,
I’m so proud of MIC media and the work we do to help good eggs to Grab The MIC and amplify their voices through podcasts. Whether that be making podcasts for charities, CIC’s and social enterprises, or upskilling their teams or beneficiaries how to create their own. It’s also brilliant to see the power of podcasts being recognised on such a big stage.
(L-R) Vic works with community producers at the national Football Museum, presenting podcast workshops at the BIPC centre and guiding a women’s group to create their own podcast.
Other categories include Best event, Best Performance and Best Exhibition. Vic is nominated alongside some of the biggest and most well-known names in cultural Manchester including HOME, Manchester International Festival, The Royal Exchange and The Whitworth Art Gallery.
A massive well done and good luck to all of this year’s Manchester Culture Awards nominees.
Now, we need you to do us a big favor. Can you keep everything crossed for us? We’ll find out if we’re the winners on Thursday 24th November.
