The Brief
Greater Manchester Moving is a charity working to make it easier for everyone in Greater Manchester to be active – wherever they live, and whatever their background. They’re all about active lives for all.
GM Moving brought in MIC at series two, to shining a spotlight on their place-based work across all ten Greater Manchester localities. GM Moving had produced the first series of their podcast in-house. But with big ideas and bigger ambition, they knew it was time to bring in the pros.
They wanted a podcast that felt purposeful, polished, and properly reflected their values. A podcast that would not only sound brilliant – but bring people together, shift conversations, and grow their movement.

What We Delivered
Since series two, we’ve worked closely with GM Moving to:
- Shape their storytelling and structure
- Plan impactful episodes that reflect their mission
- Book and brief over 180 guests
- Capture authentic audio in the studio, online, and out in the community
- Edit, polish, and produce episodes with energy, care and a bit of sparkle
The Right To The Streets edition of the podcast (Series 3 and 4) was part of a wider, Home Office-funded project to tackle violence against women and girls (VAWG) in public spaces. Led by GM Moving and local partners, the initiative used creative, community-led action to reclaim streets, parks and places for everyone – especially women and girls.
For the award-winning Right To The Streets series, across 17 episodes we:
- Organised almost 30 recording sessions
- Featured the voices of nearly 130 people – from policymakers and strategic leaders to community champions and local residents
- Recorded everywhere from football matches to running clubs
- Produced two gripping series that captured the spirit of a movement
