The Brief
Inspire Women CIC is a brilliant community organisation in Oldham, Greater Manchester. They support women who are rebuilding their lives – women who’ve experienced grief, mental health challenges, caring responsibilities, long-term illness or addiction.
They came to MIC with a powerful idea: let’s create a podcast to share our stories and support other women like us.

What We Delivered
At the start, most of the Inspire crew had never listened to a podcast, never mind made one. But what they did have was the drive to share their experiences and the trust to let us guide them.
We worked closely with the group to shape the idea, explore themes and tone, and build their storytelling and interviewing skills from the ground up.
We guided the team through script writing, branding, and planning meaningful conversations.
We professionally produced their trailer and episodes to bring everything to life.
Through our Train, Launch, Learn service, they released their first-ever series, That Inspire Feeling – a podcast packed with honesty, humour, and heart.
It was all delivered and recorded online, too, right in the middle of the pandemic, because, well… #COVID.
A year later, we were back. This time, to mentor the Inspire team through a second series – supporting them to take the lead on planning, producing and publishing, all by themselves.
By the end of our work together, they’d taken full ownership of the podcast, with the confidence and skills to keep going.
That’s what Train, Launch, Learn is all about – supporting our clients to not just make a podcast, but to keep making it, long after we’ve stepped away.
The Impact
This wasn’t just about mics and editing. It was about having a voice, and realising that voice deserves to be heard. The women involved grew in confidence, creativity, and belief in themselves. That ripple effect is still going.
“Podcasting has given me a new lease of life. People, even my kids, tell me how much I’ve grown in confidence. I’m now showing other women how to get involved too.”
