The Brief
Live Well is Greater Manchester’s movement for community-led health and wellbeing, backed by the GMCA and NHS, and supported by Andy Burnham, Greater Manchester’s Mayor and Lead for Health.
They commissioned MIC to produce an 8-part podcast series to amplify the voices, ideas and insights coming from communities across the region.
The aim? To explore where power, action and investment are shifting – and how local people are creating healthier, fairer lives.

What We Delivered
MIC lead with our full podcast production service, including:
- Generating and shaping episode themes
- Recording live at major health and care conferences
- Production, editing and scripting
- Supporting distribution and promotion
As with all our work, we’re helping turn important insight into engaging, accessible stories – so system leaders can hear directly from the people and places where change is happening.
The Impact
The series demonstrates how public services can use podcasting as a genuine listening tool. It shows how the right audio partner can bring warmth, clarity and structure to bold, cross-sector work.
This project is also a strong example of working directly with a Combined Authority to centre community voice in strategy and system change.
