The Brief

The National Football Museum wanted to mark the Women’s Euros in 2022 with a podcast that gave voice to the women and girls shaping the game – past and present.

They brought MIC in to train a group of young, female community producers to develop, record and create their own podcast, inspired by the museum’s collection.

The name? Quite Unsuitable for Females – a nod to the FA’s 1921 ruling that banned women from playing on affiliated grounds, declaring football “unsuitable” for them.
Nice try, lads.

What We Delivered

Over just 3 months, we delivered our Train, Launch, Learn programme – equipping the team with everything they needed to make a high-quality, impactful podcast from scratch.

We covered:

  • Interview skills

  • Planning and scripting

  • Recording and editing

  • Hosting, branding and distribution strategy

We guided them through shaping their stories, developing confidence on the mic, and learning the ropes of professional podcast production. Along the way, they also had an industry visit from Spotify and The Ringer, and gained a whole host of skills they’ve since added to their CVs.

MIC then took the audio they recorded and professionally produced the final, powerful podcast series.

The Impact

The result? A game-changing series that smashed expectations.
