The Brief
PIE (Pursuing Individual Excellence) is a Greater Manchester-based social enterprise committed to equity in education and preparing young people for whatever comes next.
With funding from the Duke of Edinburgh Award and NCS Trust, PIE asked MIC to help bring their new podcast idea to life – a series that would amplify the importance of enrichment activities in schools.
The goal? To create a resource that inspires, informs and celebrates how experiences outside the classroom can spark curiosity, build confidence and shape futures.

What We Delivered
We worked closely with PIE to co-create The Enrichment Effect, a podcast featuring:
- Real voices from students and teachers
- Contributions from employers and enrichment providers
- Honest reflections and practical insights from educators
MIC’s role
- Supported early ideation and episode structure
- Recorded live in schools and workplace settings
- Edited and produced the series
- Provided marketing support to help reach the right audiences
- Supported podcast distribution and launch strategy
This project shows how MIC supports organisations to tell meaningful stories from the ground up. Plus, working directly with schools, students and staff to create content that feels authentic, impactful and shareable. It’s a great example of how we help education and youth-focused organisations capture and amplify their work.
The Impact (in progress)
Launched in Spring 2025, The Enrichment Effect is already generating energy and momentum across PIE’s network.
The series is designed for
- Teachers, enrichment leads and senior leaders
- Parents curious about new ways to support their child’s growth
- Employers and partners delivering enrichment activities
It’s practical, passionate and packed with insights.
“Do you believe in the power of learning beyond the classroom? The Enrichment Effect shows how enrichment transforms young lives. It’s full of fresh ideas and inspiring stories to help design experiences that really make a difference.”
